Baltic Yachts builds sailing yachts between 15 and 50 metres in carbon sandwich in Jakobstad, light, fast yachts in semi-custom and custom construction, a leader in lightweight construction since the seventies. The smaller models sit at the upper end of what the online calculator can underwrite, the larger ones far beyond it.
Carbon carries a material surcharge with us, because repairs mean structural work with vacuum technique and heat curing, and on a Baltic that is specialist yard work, not patching laminate. The second point is the rig: carbon masts of this size need documented inspections, because material fatigue is not visible. A broken mast caused by an event is covered, one caused by fatigue is not.
