For yachts between 20 and 45 metres in length, online purchase regularly reaches its limit. Bering Yachts builds steel explorers in Turkey for long voyages, designed for self-sufficiency: the 65 and 77 Explorer model ranges as well as the 92 and 145. Up to a sum insured of 2.5 million euros the policy is taken out online; above that we review each case individually.
Third-party liability forms the basis and, depending on the tariff level, provides a limit of indemnity of 10 to 50 million euros. Anyone travelling longer distances and calling at foreign ports should choose that level carefully. We issue the international certificate of insurance automatically in ten languages.
Both model ranges are still built today, the 65 and 77 since 2010, the 92 and 145 since 2015. Full hull cover applies an agreed value, and compensation is paid with no deduction for depreciation (new for old), in the Premium tariff without an age limit. Collision, grounding, vandalism and theft of parts are also covered.

From what sum insured onwards is the case reviewed individually?
Up to a sum insured of 2.5 million euros you take out the policy online. If the value is higher, we look at the boat, the cruising range and the equipment and prepare an individual quotation.
Which proof of cover is valid abroad?
The international certificate of insurance is issued automatically in ten languages. With it you can prove your cover in foreign ports and to the authorities, with no additional application.

Bering 92 / 145 is a motor yacht from Bering Yachts (Türkiye), built since 2015, and today changes hands at between €5,500,000 and €14,000,000.
As the series is still in production, parts are available and repair costs are predictable. Even so, value it at replacement cost including retrofitted electronics, not at list price.
On motor yachts the drive and the electronics together make up about half the value. Both belong in the valuation, otherwise the sum insured is too low.
