Coronet Boats; cover, cost and conditions
Coronet built GRP cabin boats in Denmark from the sixties into the nineties, regarded as Scandinavia's answer to the American cruisers, with high freeboard, an enclosed cabin and an inboard diesel. Today these boats are classics with a loyal following and are restored at considerable expense. With a restored Coronet the amount invested bears no relation to the current market value: only an agreed value based on a survey reflects what the boat really costs.
On these boats the onboard electrical system is the critical point. Fifty-year-old wiring looms, extended over decades, are the most common cause of fire on classics. Fire is already covered under limited hull cover, but the effective measure comes earlier: a complete renewal of the electrical system as part of the restoration. Anyone who has done that should document it, it is an argument in the risk assessment.

Licence
