Delphia builds motor yachts and houseboats between 9 and 14 metres in Poland, for some years now within the Beneteau group. The Escape and Bluescape models are inland yachts with shallow draught for the Masurian lakes, Brandenburg and the French canals, frequently in use as charter boats.
In insurance terms, charter operation is not the same as private use. Anyone who rents out a boat needs the use type charter or skippered charter in the policy; without that entry there is no cover for a claim occurring in rental operation. With charter boats there is the additional point that changing crews increase the frequency of claims, above all handling damage when berthing and passing locks. The deductible is the instrument that steers the premium here.
