Worth knowing
Bootswerft Hille; cover, cost and conditions
Hille boats are small cabin boats of the kind that have been sailing on the Havel, the Spree and the Mecklenburg lakes for decades. The Coaster model range is the core, along with Cameo and Delphin. The value is low, the use all the more intensive, and the most frequent damage is mooring damage to your own hull.
For boats of this class the question of limited or full hull cover is quickly answered: without full hull cover, exactly the case that really occurs is missing. Grounding, collision and vandalism are included there only. On a boat of this size the difference in premium is in the low double digits.
Questions and answers
Frequent questions
Is my boat also insured in winter storage?
Yes, storm, snow load, fire and theft, provided the boat is properly cradled. This also applies to storage yards without security.
Do I need a registration number?
From 3 hp upwards, registration is compulsory. On federal waterways the boat licence must also be carried on board.

For a series of this age there is no list price left. That is why we work with an agreed value: you state the figure, we agree it, and in a total loss exactly that amount is paid, with no deduction for wear.
On a motorboat the drive is the single most valuable part. Damage after grounding is covered, an engine failure from wear is not.
For a series built in these years the market value and the replacement cost often differ widely. An agreed value removes the age-based scale, and the figure in the policy stands.
On a fishing boat the gear is often worth more than expected: sounder, trolling motor and rods are covered as equipment if they are listed.
