Two entries are listed in the programme: Icon 62 / 68 m as a new build and Icon refit and conversion, both of which continue to the present day. The yard from the Netherlands works in the 60 to 70 m range and also carries out lengthenings of existing yachts. Sizes like these are far above the limit for taking out cover online.
With a yacht that comes out of a conversion, the question of value is not easy to answer. Under full hull cover an agreed value is set, in the Premium tariff without an age limit. Compensation is paid with no deduction for depreciation (new for old), so that even an older hull with new substance is covered up to the agreed sum.
Sums insured of up to 2.5 million euros can be taken out online. For yachts of this class an individual assessment therefore follows, with an individual quotation. Third-party liability with a limit of indemnity of 10 to 50 million euros remains the basis, and the international certificate of insurance comes in ten languages.
