Lampuga builds electric jetboards in Germany, the Air as an inflatable board and the Boost as a hardboard, plus a rescue version for water rescue services. The electric drive makes the units quiet and low-maintenance; the battery, on the other hand, is the component around which the insurance revolves. A lithium battery in a watersports device is exposed to moisture, salt and mechanical stress, and a damaged housing usually means the total loss of the battery.
Our hull insurance covers fire and explosion including thermal runaway, also during charging, provided that charging was carried out according to the manufacturer's specification. With exchangeable batteries such as the ones Lampuga uses, this applies to each individual one: charge in the case supplied, not unattended and not in a hall next to other boats. This care is not a formality but the condition on which the cover applies.
The same rules apply to operation as to other jetboards: marking from 3 hp, a licence on inland waters from 15 hp, and no operation in Bavaria and on Lake Constance. In practice, theft protection is more important, since a jetboard weighs less than thirty kilograms and is loaded in seconds. Full hull cover covers theft; do not store the board visibly in the vehicle and do not leave it unlocked on the beach.

Are exchangeable batteries covered?
Yes, as part of the equipment. Charge them according to the manufacturer's specification in the case supplied, as unattended charging can count as an increase in risk.
Is theft covered?
Under full hull cover, yes. With a device weighing less than thirty kilograms this is the most likely claim, so do not store it visibly in the vehicle.
