Larson built bowriders, deck boats and fishing boats in Minnesota for more than ninety years before production ended in 2020. For owners that means: the boat keeps running, but the manufacturer no longer answers. Spare parts come from the second-hand market or are remade. In insurance terms this is a classic case for the agreed value, because the current value of a boat with no shipyard behind it falls faster than the amount a repair really costs.
With Larson models fitted with a sterndrive there is a second point: the drives come from Volvo Penta or Mercruiser and are still available, the shipyard-specific parts around them are not. Damage to the drive can be repaired, a broken engine mount or a cracked console becomes a one-off fabrication. So keep the agreed value at the replacement value of a comparable boat, not at the residual value of your own.
