Marex; cover, cost and conditions
Marex from Norway builds cabin boats with retractable canopies and enclosed cockpits for Nordic conditions. They are widespread on the Baltic, on the IJsselmeer and in Scandinavian waters, mostly with an inboard engine or a sterndrive.
With a sterndrive the drive is the most expensive point: grounding and rope in the propeller work through to the shaft assembly and the gearbox and are only covered by full hull cover as an all-risks cover. On boats with an elaborate canopy construction it is also worth looking at storm damage at the berth; the cover and the canopy are covered under hull insurance, but their replacement is expensive enough to make it important to state the value correctly.

Under hull insurance yes, if an event such as a storm was the cause. Wear and tear of the fabric is excluded; state the value of the canopy construction as well when you take out the policy.

Licence
A powerboat licence (inland or coastal) is required from 15 hp (11.03 kW).
Registration
