Marsaudon Composites; cover, cost and conditions
Marsaudon Composites builds light performance catamarans of 12 to 15 m in France. Two ranges are recorded, the ORC 42 and 50 since 2012 to the present day as well as the TS 42 and TS 5 from the years 2008 to 2020. The ORC catamarans are below charter boats in weight; they are insured according to the same characteristics.
At the beginning stands third-party liability with a limit of indemnity of 10 to 50 million euros, selectable via Basis, Basis-Plus and Premium. A catamaran of this length takes up space in the harbour, and damage to other boats or to jetties falls under it. Only on top of that do limited hull cover and full hull cover build.
Club races are included from Basis-Plus; races with scoring status you state when taking out the policy. In full hull cover an agreed value applies with no deduction for depreciation (new for old), in the Premium tariff without an age limit. Collision, grounding, vandalism and theft of parts are covered.

Are races with a performance catamaran included?
Club races from the Basis-Plus tariff. Races with scoring status you report when taking out the policy, so that they are taken into account in the contract and cover applies there as well.
What limit of indemnity can be chosen in the third-party liability?
Between 10 and 50 million euros via the levels Basis, Basis-Plus and Premium. Third-party liability is the basis; limited hull cover and full hull cover build on it.

ORC 42 / 50 is a cabin catamaran from Marsaudon Composites (France), built since 2012, and today changes hands at between €420,000 and €890,000.
TS 42 / TS 5 is a cabin catamaran from Marsaudon Composites (France), built from 2008 to 2020, and today changes hands at between €290,000 and €590,000.
As the series is still in production, parts are available and repair costs are predictable. Even so, value it at replacement cost including retrofitted electronics, not at list price.
On catamarans the bridgedeck between the hulls is the sensitive part, and the berth belongs in the application: double width often means a mooring rather than a marina.
For a series built in these years the market value and the replacement cost often differ widely. An agreed value removes the age-based scale, and the figure in the policy stands.
