Perception and Dagger are US brands for plastic kayaks, Perception for recreation, sit-on-top and fishing kayaks, Dagger for whitewater and creeking. Rotationally moulded polyethylene is the basis of both brands: insensitive to contact with rock, maintenance-free and practically unsinkable, but hard to repair if a crack does appear.
A crack in polyethylene is welded, not laminated, and the result does not always hold.
