Pershing builds fast motor yachts in Italy between 15 and 30 metres, with water jet drives, surface propellers and speeds above 40 knots. They are the fastest production yachts on the market, and the speed shapes the risk profile: the energy in a loss rises with the square of the speed, and an impact at 45 knots is a different event from one at 12.
With yachts of this class the sum insured lies above the threshold from which we need a release from the risk carrier, and frequently above the one from which every case is examined individually with the reinsurer. Licence
A powerboat licence (inland or coastal) is required from 15 hp (11.03 kW).
Registration
Registration from 3 hp; for trips abroad carry the boat certificate or flag document.
