The Prospect 900 is a British cabin cruiser of the seventies and eighties, in Germany mostly found on rivers, canals and in sheltered coastal waters. In our records the yard appears in several spellings, Rydgeway, Ridgeway and Rydgeway Marine Ltd., and the same type of construction is meant. Because there is no current production run any more, spare parts for windows, fittings and panelling are only available on the second-hand market.
For the valuation this means: the current market value of a fifty-year-old hull says nothing about the price a well-kept boat achieves on the market. Agree an agreed value based on the replacement value including interior fit-out, engine and refit. If a proper repair is not possible after severe damage, we settle at the value agreed as a total loss.
