Worth knowing
Saver Boats; cover, cost and conditions
In Italy, Saver builds compact open and cabin boats that are typically driven with an outboard of between 40 and 200 hp. The boat can be trailered, and the largest part of the value is in the engine. The same rule therefore applies here as for all outboard boats: put the engine with its serial number in the contract, otherwise the hull insurance only covers the hull in the event of theft.
The Adriatic means summer operation with many bathers in the water. The most expensive third-party liability claim on a leisure boat is not the collision with another boat but the injury of a swimmer. Our third-party liability covers personal injury up to the agreed sum, and the higher limit of indemnity costs a few euros a year. Take it.
For trailer operation the procedure is decisive: road transport, launching and craning are included with us. Before every trip check the lashing, and when launching check the braking system, because a boat that slips off the trailer is a claim in which the question of due care immediately arises.
Questions and answers
Frequent questions
Is the outboard of my Saver covered as well?
In full hull cover yes, including theft of parts, provided it is stated in the contract with its power output and serial number.
Does the cover also apply in Croatia and Italy?
Yes, with the appropriate cruising range. The international certificate of insurance proves the compulsory cover there and is automatically available.

For a series built in these years the market value and the replacement cost often differ widely. An agreed value removes the age-based scale, and the figure in the policy stands.
On a motorboat the drive is the single most valuable part. Damage after grounding is covered, an engine failure from wear is not.
As the series is still in production, parts are available and repair costs are predictable. Even so, value it at replacement cost including retrofitted electronics, not at list price.
On motor yachts the drive and the electronics together make up about half the value. Both belong in the valuation, otherwise the sum insured is too low.
