Tema builds boat trailers for the German market in the range up to about 1,500 kilograms, trailers for sports boats, inflatables and dinghies, frequently used in clubs and sailing schools. In our boat policy the trailer is covered at no extra premium if it is stated in the application.
For club operation and sailing schools, however, there is a restriction that also affects the trailer: if the boat and trailer are moved by changing users, that is no longer private use. Register the club or school operation. Trailer damage caused during loading by an inexperienced user is not covered under the private policy.
For dinghies and small boats the trailer often stays under the boat permanently and is therefore part of the storage in winter storage. Our policy covers the stay ashore including winter storage. Make sure that the boat sits correctly on the trailer and that the tyres are relieved of load, a boat that stands on deformed rollers over the winter is damaged, and that is a consequence of storage.

Does the cover apply in club operation?
Only with registered club or school use. Changing users are a different risk from own use, including during loading.
Is the trailer covered in winter storage?
Yes, the stay ashore including winter storage is included. Make sure the boat is correctly supported, deformation caused by incorrect storage is not covered.
