Viking builds sportfishing yachts of between 14 and 25 metres in New Jersey, convertible models with a tower, a fighting chair and markedly high engine output, built for deep sea angling. They are the fastest yachts in their size class and their sums insured frequently lie above the online calculator limit of 2.5 million euros.

On sportfishing yachts the equipment is a block of value in its own right: tower with helm station, outriggers, livewell, refrigeration units, radar, satellite communication, plus fishing equipment in the six figure range. Personal effects are included at no extra premium up to 3 % of the sum insured, up to a maximum of 3,000 euros, which is clearly too little for this kind of use. The amount above that can be insured for an additional premium, and the technical equipment belongs separately in the sum insured.
