Four sailing yacht ranges are recorded for AB Scandi Yachts Oy: the Scandi 40 from the years 1985 to 1992 as well as the Scandi 52, the Scandi 57 and the Scandi 65, which were built between 1997 and 2005. Production therefore lies in the past. Anyone taking over one of these yachts today is buying used, and for that the replacement value is the decisive figure in the contract.
What matters is not the purchase price paid, but the sum a comparable boat would cost today. NAMMERT records this value as an agreed value in the contract and pays compensation in the event of a claim with no deduction for depreciation (new for old). In the Premium tariff the full hull cover applies without an age limit, so that even a yacht from the eighties remains fully protected.
We insure regardless of the year of construction, where the boat was bought and previous owners. Whether a yacht has had two owners or five makes no difference to access to the cover. The basis remains the third-party liability cover with a limit of indemnity of 10 to 50 million euros in the Basis, Basis-Plus and Premium levels. The premium follows the type of boat, the value, the year of construction, the sail area and the cruising range, never the brand.

How is the value of a Scandi 52 set out in the contract?
Through an agreed value. This sum is stated in the contract and is paid out in the event of a total loss with no deduction for depreciation (new for old). It is based on the year of construction, the condition and the equipment of the boat, not on the name of the yard.
Are club races with a Scandi 65 included?
From the Basis-Plus tariff onwards, club races are covered. You state races with scoring status when taking out the policy so that the cover matches the actual use from the outset.
