Anyone taking over a used unit should base the sum insured on the replacement value, because it is precisely this value that later decides the indemnity.
In full hull cover an agreed value is agreed and indemnified with no deduction for depreciation (new for old), in the Premium tariff with no age limit. Collision, grounding, vandalism and theft of parts including the outboard are included. A motor yacht built since 2018 therefore also remains covered at the agreed value.
The foundation is third-party liability with a limit of indemnity of 10 to 50 million euros in the levels Basis, Basis-Plus and Premium. Up to a sum insured of 2.5 million euros the policy is taken out online, above that we examine the individual case. The premium follows the type of boat, value, year of construction, engine power and cruising range, never the brand.

What matters when buying a used unit from this yard?
A sound replacement value. It is written into the contract as an agreed value and is decisive in the event of a claim. We insure regardless of year of construction, place of purchase and previous owners.
Does the cover also apply outside the season?
Yes, in winter storage, during craning, during launching and on the transport route. The hull cover has no time window and no night clause, the contract continues around the clock.
