Worth knowing
Andreas Sprenger; cover, cost and conditions
Four model ranges between 1982 and 2009 are on record, among them the Sprenger 26 and the Sprenger 33 as well as a 16-S dinghy cruiser. Smaller sailing boats often move back and forth between the water and the trailer. At NAMMERT, boat trailers are included in the boat insurance at no extra premium.
Cover does not end at the pontoon: it applies in winter storage, during craning, during launching and while in transit. With a dinghy cruiser that is moved between sailing areas in particular, this covers the journeys during which most of the handling takes place, and it does so with no time window and no night clause.
The basis of every policy is third-party liability with a limit of indemnity of 10 to 50 million euros in the Basis, Basis-Plus and Premium levels. If you sail club races with the Sprenger 33, these are included from Basis-Plus upwards; races carrying ranking status are declared when you take out the policy.
Questions and answers
Frequent questions
Does the trailer for a Sprenger 26 have to be insured separately?
No. The boat trailer is included in the boat insurance at no extra premium. Launching, craning and the journey in transit are also covered.
Is a dinghy cruiser covered in club races?
From the Basis-Plus tariff upwards, club races are included. For races carrying ranking status a declaration when taking out the policy is enough, and the cover then matches the sailing programme.

Series by Andreas Sprenger, build years and cover
Sprenger 26 is a sailing yacht from Andreas Sprenger, built from 1989 to 2009.
16-S dinghy cruiser is a sailing boat from Andreas Sprenger, built from 2000 to 2008.
Sprenger 33 is a sailing yacht from Andreas Sprenger, built from 1982 to 2008.
Stic-Flash is a sailing yacht from Andreas Sprenger, built from 1990 to 1996.
For a series built in these years the market value and the replacement cost often differ widely. An agreed value removes the age-based scale, and the figure in the policy stands.
On sailing yachts the rig and the underwater hull are the expensive parts: a dismasting quickly costs a quarter of the boat, and osmosis counts as wear and is covered by no hull policy.
On boats this size the condition of rig and fittings decides. A dismasting is covered, worn terminals after years are not.
For a series of this age there is no list price left. That is why we work with an agreed value: you state the figure, we agree it, and in a total loss exactly that amount is paid, with no deduction for wear.
