In most waters yes, and it is often a condition of the berth. Either way it makes sense, because damage to other boats and jetties quickly reaches high figures.
Is the battery of an electric model covered?
Yes, provided it is part of the sum insured and named. On these boats the battery is often the single most expensive item, so it should not be folded silently into equipment.
