Worth knowing
C & C Yachts; cover, cost and conditions
C&C Yachts is listed with 31 models, almost all sailing yachts. The older lines carry the length in feet in the name, such as the C&C 30, 36 and 38, while the newer ones use the length in feet times ten, so 99, 110, 115, 121 and 131. The C&C 30 One Design and the Redline 41 also appear. Build years run from 1967 to 2019, lengths from 7.3 to 15.8 m.
C&C always stood for cruising yachts that are sailed hard, and that shapes the claim pattern too. Anyone sailing close to racing pace loads rig, fittings and sails more heavily than a pure cruiser does. The expensive claim is a dismasting, and comprehensive hull cover pays for it as long as it results from an event and not from a rig that has gone years without an overhaul. If you race, that belongs explicitly in the policy.
NAMMERT insures C&C yachts regardless of build year and place of purchase, older classics as well as the more recent lines. For the older boats we recommend an agreed fixed value, because a well kept yacht is worth more than the table figure. You can calculate the premium for liability and hull cover in the online calculator in about 5 minutes.
Questions and answers
Frequent questions
Is racing a C&C covered?
Only if it is stated in the policy. Racing loads rig and sails more heavily, so it is agreed separately. Tell us whether and to what extent you race and the cover will be set up accordingly.
What does the number on the newer models mean, for example C&C 115?
It gives the length in feet with one decimal, so a C&C 115 is around 11.5 m long. For the premium what counts is the length in metres from the registration papers, plus value and cruising area.

For a series built in these years the market value and the replacement cost often differ widely. An agreed value removes the age-based scale, and the figure in the policy stands.
On sailing yachts the rig and the underwater hull are the expensive parts: a dismasting quickly costs a quarter of the boat, and osmosis counts as wear and is covered by no hull policy.
For a series of this age there is no list price left. That is why we work with an agreed value: you state the figure, we agree it, and in a total loss exactly that amount is paid, with no deduction for wear.
On boats this size the condition of rig and fittings decides. A dismasting is covered, worn terminals after years are not.
On motor yachts the drive and the electronics together make up about half the value. Both belong in the valuation, otherwise the sum insured is too low.
