Worth knowing
Conquest; cover, cost and conditions
Nine model ranges are documented, all of them motor boats, with construction periods between 1989 and 2003. After that the records end, so production lies in the past. Anyone taking on such a boat today is buying second hand, and our contract is set up for exactly that case.
When buying second hand, what counts above all is the amount available in the event of a claim. For this we agree an agreed value and indemnify with no deduction for depreciation (new for old). The contract applies regardless of place of purchase and previous owners, and we do not require an unbroken history of the boat.
From our own portfolio we know the 1950 CC, the 2052 CC and the 1800 BR. The trailer is included in the boat insurance at no extra premium, and craning, launching and transit are included. Third-party liability with 10 to 50 million euros forms the basis, graded into Basis, Basis-Plus and Premium.
Questions and answers
Frequent questions
Do I have to prove the previous owners of a used boat?
No. We insure regardless of year of construction, place of purchase and previous owners. For the contract we need the type of boat, year of construction, value, engine power and cruising range, not the complete chain of ownership.
Which sum is used as the basis in the event of a total loss?
The agreed value set when the policy is taken out. Indemnity is paid with no deduction for depreciation (new for old), in the Premium tariff with no age limit. That is why it is worth adjusting the agreed value when the value changes.
The cover that fits
For the whole class of boat
What matters for your boat depends less on the brand than on engine output, how a claim is settled and the waters you sail.

For a series built in these years the market value and the replacement cost often differ widely. An agreed value removes the age-based scale, and the figure in the policy stands.
On a motorboat the drive is the single most valuable part. Damage after grounding is covered, an engine failure from wear is not.
For a series of this age there is no list price left. That is why we work with an agreed value: you state the figure, we agree it, and in a total loss exactly that amount is paid, with no deduction for wear.
