Worth knowing
DRP; cover, cost and conditions
Two ranges run under the name Jack-Pot at DRP: a sailing boat, built from 1984 to 2005, and the Jack-Pot 3,75 listed as a motor boat from 1990 onwards. Both production periods ended in 2005. Sailing boats and motor boats are calculated differently in the premium, but the principle remains the same.
With the sailing boat, the sail area takes the place that engine power occupies with the motor boat. Added to this are the type of boat, value, year of construction and cruising range. The brand never enters into it, which is why a Jack-Pot is calculated in exactly the same way as any other boat with comparable data.
Third-party liability is the basis, with a limit of indemnity of 10 to 50 million euros in the levels Basis, Basis-Plus and Premium. Club races are included from Basis-Plus upwards. For full hull cover we agree an agreed value and indemnify with no deduction for depreciation, in the Premium tariff with no age limit.
Questions and answers
Frequent questions
Is the Jack-Pot 3,75 classified as a motor boat?
Yes, it is listed as a motor boat, while the Jack-Pot is a sailing boat. With the motor boat the engine power goes into the premium, with the sailing boat the sail area.
What happens when the boat changes owner?
We insure regardless of place of purchase and previous owners. After a second-hand purchase we agree a new agreed value, and legal expenses cover for water sports can be taken out as well for disputes arising from the purchase.

Series by DRP, build years and cover
Jack-Pot is a sailing boat from DRP, built from 1984 to 2005.
Jack-Pot 3,75 is a motorboat from DRP, built from 1990 to 2005.
For a series built in these years the market value and the replacement cost often differ widely. An agreed value removes the age-based scale, and the figure in the policy stands.
On boats this size the condition of rig and fittings decides. A dismasting is covered, worn terminals after years are not.
On a motorboat the drive is the single most valuable part. Damage after grounding is covered, an engine failure from wear is not.
