Worth knowing
ERA Boats; cover, cost and conditions
A single model range is available, the ERA 8, built between 1990 and 1997. With a programme of this size, the question arises whether a small number of units stands in the way of insurance. At NAMMERT it does not: small production runs and home-built boats can be insured.
We likewise insure regardless of year of construction, place of purchase and previous owners. The premium follows type of boat, value, year of construction, engine power and cruising range, never the brand. Third-party liability with a limit of indemnity of 10 to 50 million euros forms the basis in the levels Basis, Basis-Plus and Premium.
In full hull cover claims are settled according to the agreed value, with no deduction for depreciation and, in the Premium tariff, with no age limit. Collision, grounding, vandalism and theft of parts including the outboard are covered. Limited hull cover bears fire, storm, lightning strike, theft of the entire boat and damage in winter storage.
Questions and answers
Frequent questions
Is a small number of units a problem for acceptance?
No. Small production runs and home-built boats can be insured with us. What matters for the contract are type of boat, value, year of construction, engine power and the agreed cruising range.
On what basis is the value assessed in the event of a claim?
On the agreed value that has been arranged. Full hull cover settles claims with no deduction for depreciation; in the Premium tariff this applies with no age limit for the boat.

Series by ERA Boats, build years and cover
ERA 8 is a motor yacht from ERA Boats, built from 1990 to 1997.
For a series of this age there is no list price left. That is why we work with an agreed value: you state the figure, we agree it, and in a total loss exactly that amount is paid, with no deduction for wear.
On motor yachts the drive and the electronics together make up about half the value. Both belong in the valuation, otherwise the sum insured is too low.
