Worth knowing
Frers, German; cover, cost and conditions
Five ranges are listed under this entry, all of them sailing yachts: the F & C 37 from 1982 to 1990, the F & C 40 from 1983 to 1993 and the F & C 44 in several records between 1980 and 1993. For yachts of this kind the cover begins with the third-party liability, regardless of the year of construction.
The limit of indemnity can be chosen from 10 to 50 million euros, graded across Basis, Basis-Plus and Premium. It bears the damage you cause to third parties, regardless of how old the yacht is. We insure regardless of the year of construction, the place of purchase and previous owners.
The hull insurance builds on that: limited hull cover for fire, storm, lightning strike, theft of the entire boat and damage in winter storage, full hull cover additionally for collision, grounding, vandalism and theft of parts. Compensation is paid according to the agreed value with no deduction for depreciation.
Questions and answers
Frequent questions
What limit of indemnity can be chosen in the third-party liability?
The third-party liability is available with a limit of indemnity of 10 to 50 million euros, in the tariff levels Basis, Basis-Plus and Premium. It forms the basis on which limited or full hull cover is built.
Does the year of construction of an F & C 44 from the nineteen-eighties matter?
Not for insurability. We insure regardless of the year of construction, the place of purchase and previous owners. In the Premium tariff compensation is paid with no deduction for depreciation and with no age limit.

On sailing yachts the rig and the underwater hull are the expensive parts: a dismasting quickly costs a quarter of the boat, and osmosis counts as wear and is covered by no hull policy.
