One cabin catamaran is recorded, the Akurra F18, in production since 2019 and to this day. With sailing craft the sail area takes the place of engine power and, together with type of boat, value, year of construction and cruising range, feeds into the premium. The brand has no influence here.
Anyone taking part in club races with it is covered from the Basis-Plus tariff onwards. Races with scoring status you state when taking out the policy, so that they are taken into account in the contract. Third-party liability with a limit of indemnity of 10 to 50 million euros remains the basis at every level.
For periods ashore, cover applies in winter storage, during craning, during launching and on the transport route, and a boat trailer is included at no extra premium. Full hull cover additionally covers collision, grounding, vandalism and theft of parts including the outboard.

How is a cabin catamaran classified?
By type of boat, value, year of construction, sail area and cruising range. The premium is never based on the brand. Up to a sum insured of 2.5 million euros the policy is taken out online.

As the series is still in production, parts are available and repair costs are predictable. Even so, value it at replacement cost including retrofitted electronics, not at list price.
On catamarans the bridgedeck between the hulls is the sensitive part, and the berth belongs in the application: double width often means a mooring rather than a marina.
