Worth knowing
Hatra; cover, cost and conditions
Four ranges are recorded: the motor boats Hatra 600 DC and 708 D from 1968 to 1976, the 708 K from 1966 to 1975 and the 870, listed as a sailing yacht, from 1968 to 1976. With the motor boats the engine output feeds into the premium; with the 870 the sail area takes its place.
Besides the size of the propulsion, the type of boat, the value, the year of construction and the cruising range count. The brand stays out of it. If the engine changes, state the new output so that the contract fits the boat and the settlement is not called into question in the event of a claim.
Years of construction from the sixties and seventies are insurable, regardless of place of purchase and previous owners. Full hull cover works with an agreed value and with no deduction for depreciation, in the Premium tariff with no age limit. Third-party liability ranges from 10 to 50 million euros limit of indemnity.
Questions and answers
Frequent questions
Does a more powerful engine have an effect on the premium?
Yes. The engine output is one of the calculation factors, alongside the type of boat, the value, the year of construction and the cruising range. You should therefore report a change to the engine.
How is the Hatra 870, listed as a sailing yacht, calculated?
With sailing craft the sail area takes the place of the engine output. All the other factors stay the same: the type of boat, the value, the year of construction and the cruising range determine the premium.

Series by Hatra, build years and cover
Hatra 600 DC is a motorboat from Hatra, built from 1968 to 1976.
Hatra 708 D is a motorboat from Hatra, built from 1968 to 1976.
Hatra 870 is a sailing yacht from Hatra, built from 1968 to 1976.
Hatra 708 K is a motorboat from Hatra, built from 1966 to 1975.
For a series of this age there is no list price left. That is why we work with an agreed value: you state the figure, we agree it, and in a total loss exactly that amount is paid, with no deduction for wear.
On a motorboat the drive is the single most valuable part. Damage after grounding is covered, an engine failure from wear is not.
On sailing yachts the rig and the underwater hull are the expensive parts: a dismasting quickly costs a quarter of the boat, and osmosis counts as wear and is covered by no hull policy.
