Worth knowing
HMO Yachting; cover, cost and conditions
Two model ranges are recorded, the Diva 890 with years of construction from 2002 to 2014 and the Staaldus 42 from 2005 to 2012, both motor yachts. Boats from that period are today mostly bought second-hand, and then the question arises as to which value is fixed in the contract.
In full hull cover that is the agreed value: the agreed amount which is replaced in the event of a claim with no deduction for depreciation ("new for old"), in the Premium tariff with no age limit. Collision, grounding, vandalism and theft of parts including the outboard are part of it.
The premium follows the type of boat, value, year of construction, engine power and cruising range. Anyone bringing along an existing contract does not have to cancel it themselves, because the switching service takes over the cancellation of the previous policy free of charge. Third-party liability is available with a limit of indemnity of 10 to 50 million euros.
Questions and answers
Frequent questions
How is the value of a Diva 890 agreed?
By means of an agreed value in full hull cover. The amount stated in the contract is replaced in the event of a claim with no deduction for depreciation ("new for old"), in the Premium tariff with no age limit for the boat.
Do I have to cancel the old contract myself?
No. The switching service takes over the cancellation of the previous policy free of charge, so that deadlines and correspondence are not left to you.

Series by HMO Yachting, build years and cover
Diva 890 is a motor yacht from HMO Yachting, built from 2002 to 2014.
Staaldus 42 is a motor yacht from HMO Yachting, built from 2005 to 2012.
For a series built in these years the market value and the replacement cost often differ widely. An agreed value removes the age-based scale, and the figure in the policy stands.
On motor yachts the drive and the electronics together make up about half the value. Both belong in the valuation, otherwise the sum insured is too low.
