Worth knowing
Hop On; cover, cost and conditions
A houseboat by the name of Tante Helga is the only recorded range, built since 2021 and continuing today. The records yield nothing more. What is insured is therefore the specific boat with value, year of construction, engine power and cruising range, not the brand.
With a houseboat the cruising range is usually inland waters, and that is exactly what we record in the contract. The cruising range is one of the premium factors, alongside type of boat, value, year of construction and engine power. This produces a premium that matches the actual use.
Third-party liability with a limit of indemnity of 10 to 50 million euros stands at the beginning, and limited hull cover carries fire, storm, lightning strike, theft of the entire boat and damage in winter storage. In full hull cover, collision, grounding and vandalism are added, indemnified according to the agreed value.
Questions and answers
Frequent questions

Yes, the cruising range is one of the factors, alongside type of boat, value, year of construction and engine power. Whether inland waters or coast, we record it in the contract.
Which losses does limited hull cover cover on a houseboat?
Fire, storm, lightning strike, theft of the entire boat and damage in winter storage. Collision, grounding and vandalism belong to full hull cover.

Series by Hop On, build years and cover
houseboat Tante Helga is a motorboat from Hop On, built since 2021.
As the series is still in production, parts are available and repair costs are predictable. Even so, value it at replacement cost including retrofitted electronics, not at list price.
On a motorboat the drive is the single most valuable part. Damage after grounding is covered, an engine failure from wear is not.
