A catamaran with cabins quickly reaches a sum insured at which we look more closely. From Iliad Catamarans one model range is recorded, the Iliad 53, built since 2020 and still today. Up to a sum insured of 2.5 million euros you take out cover online, and above that an individual assessment follows.
We have no further details about the programme. In full hull cover we work with an agreed value and pay compensation with no deduction for depreciation, in the Premium tariff with no age limit. Collision, grounding, vandalism and theft of parts including the outboard are included.
Two hulls need more room in the harbour, which makes third-party liability with a limit of indemnity of 10 to 50 million euros correspondingly important. Cover also applies in winter storage, during craning and launching as well as along the transport route. You receive the international certificate of insurance automatically in ten languages.

Iliad 53 is a cabin catamaran from Iliad Catamarans, built since 2020.
As the series is still in production, parts are available and repair costs are predictable. Even so, value it at replacement cost including retrofitted electronics, not at list price.
On catamarans the bridgedeck between the hulls is the sensitive part, and the berth belongs in the application: double width often means a mooring rather than a marina.
