Worth knowing
Kemper; cover, cost and conditions
No boat cover without third-party liability: with a limit of indemnity of 10 to 50 million euros it forms the basis in the Basis, Basis-Plus and Premium levels. For the sailing yacht Marisa 52, built from 1996 to 2003, this applies just as it does for any other boat. Limited hull cover and full hull cover build on it.
No more than this one range is recorded for the brand. From the years of construction it follows that production lies in the past and that the yacht is traded second-hand today. For the hull insurance an agreed value is set, and compensation is paid with no deduction for depreciation (new for old).
The sail area instead of the engine power goes into the premium, together with the value, the year of construction, the type of boat and the cruising range. Club races are included from Basis-Plus upwards, and races with ranking status should be stated when taking out the policy. You receive the international certificate of insurance in ten languages.
Questions and answers
Frequent questions
Why is third-party liability the basis?
It covers damage that you cause to others with the boat and comes first in every tariff level. Depending on the level, the limit of indemnity lies between 10 and 50 million euros.
How is a yacht from the nineties covered?
Through an agreed value that is set when the policy is taken out. Compensation is paid with no deduction for depreciation (new for old), in the Premium tariff with no age limit for the year of construction.

Series by Kemper, build years and cover
Marisa 52 is a sailing yacht from Kemper, built from 1996 to 2003.
For a series built in these years the market value and the replacement cost often differ widely. An agreed value removes the age-based scale, and the figure in the policy stands.
On sailing yachts the rig and the underwater hull are the expensive parts: a dismasting quickly costs a quarter of the boat, and osmosis counts as wear and is covered by no hull policy.
