Worth knowing
Lancer Yachts; cover, cost and conditions
For Lancer Yachts one model range is on record, the Lancer 28-T MK IV with years of construction from 1976 to 1983. No further models are recorded in our portfolio. That is sufficient for the cover, because what is insured is the individual boat with its data, not the range of a shipyard.
Between October and April such a yacht stands ashore in many waters. The cover applies in winter storage, during craning, during launching and while in transport. There, limited hull cover covers fire, storm, lightning strike, theft of the entire boat and damage in winter storage itself.
A year of construction of 1976 is no ground for exclusion. We insure regardless of the year of construction, the place of purchase and previous owners and agree an agreed value which is paid in the event of a claim with no deduction for depreciation ("new for old"). In the Premium tariff full hull cover applies with no age limit.
Questions and answers
Frequent questions
Does the cover apply during the lay-up period ashore?
Yes. Winter storage, craning, launching and the transport route are included. There, limited hull cover covers storm, fire, lightning strike and damage in winter storage, among other things.
Is a single model range sufficient for an application?
Yes. We base the contract on your specific boat: type of boat, value, year of construction, sail area and cruising range. The extent of the manufacturer's range plays no part.

Series by Lancer Yachts, build years and cover
Lancer 28-T MK IV is a sailing yacht from Lancer Yachts, built from 1976 to 1983.
For a series of this age there is no list price left. That is why we work with an agreed value: you state the figure, we agree it, and in a total loss exactly that amount is paid, with no deduction for wear.
On sailing yachts the rig and the underwater hull are the expensive parts: a dismasting quickly costs a quarter of the boat, and osmosis counts as wear and is covered by no hull policy.
