Worth knowing
LDC Racing Sailboats; cover, cost and conditions
LDC Racing Sailboats is listed in the NAMMERT database with 36 models, mostly sailing dinghies of roughly 2.9 to 7.4 m, plus a few sailing catamarans. The fleet is shaped by the RS classes from the RS 200 through RS 400, 500, 700 and 800 to the RS Aero family and the RS 21. Recorded build years start in 1991 and run to current production.
Dinghies of this size are trailerable: liability insurance is the basis, and hull cover includes transport on the trailer. Mast, sails and equipment should be included realistically in the insured value.
NAMMERT insures RS dinghies by LDC Racing Sailboats regardless of build year and place of purchase. The premium can be calculated in the online calculator in about 5 minutes.

As the series is still in production, parts are available and repair costs are predictable. Even so, value it at replacement cost including retrofitted electronics, not at list price.
On boats this size the condition of rig and fittings decides. A dismasting is covered, worn terminals after years are not.
On catamarans the bridgedeck between the hulls is the sensitive part, and the berth belongs in the application: double width often means a mooring rather than a marina.
For a series built in these years the market value and the replacement cost often differ widely. An agreed value removes the age-based scale, and the figure in the policy stands.
