Worth knowing
Nova Cat; cover, cost and conditions
Open catamarans in three model ranges are recorded, the Nova Cat 15, 18 and 26, all with a construction period from 1984 to 1991. Where you sail them is laid down when the contract is concluded: inland waters, coastal waters or beyond have a direct effect on the premium.
Alongside the cruising range, type of boat, value, year of construction and sail area count, while the brand stays out of it. For trips abroad you receive the international certificate of insurance automatically in ten languages and do not have to request it separately.
Production ended in 1991. We insure irrespective of year of construction, place of purchase and previous owners, in the full hull cover on the basis of an agreed value with no deduction for depreciation (new for old) and in the Premium tariff with no age limit. A boat trailer is included in the boat insurance at no extra premium.
Questions and answers
Frequent questions
Do I have to state my sailing area when the contract is concluded?
Yes, the cruising range is laid down and enters into the premium. If it changes permanently, you should report this so that the contract matches the actual use.
What applies if I travel abroad with it?
You receive the international certificate of insurance automatically in ten languages. Which cruising range is covered depends on the agreement in the contract.

Nova Cat 15 is an open catamaran from Nova Cat, built from 1984 to 1991.
Nova Cat 18 is an open catamaran from Nova Cat, built from 1984 to 1991.
Nova Cat 26 is an open catamaran from Nova Cat, built from 1984 to 1991.
For a series of this age there is no list price left. That is why we work with an agreed value: you state the figure, we agree it, and in a total loss exactly that amount is paid, with no deduction for wear.
Open catamarans are beached and trailed, so most damage happens ashore and in transit, not on the water.
