Worth knowing
Opus/Pedersen & Thuesen; cover, cost and conditions
Four sailing yacht ranges are listed, the Opus 34, the Opus 34 MK-II, the Opus 35 and the Lord Helmsman, built between 1969 and 1987. Anyone who sails one of these yachts and would like to change insurer does not have to take care of the cancellation themselves.
NAMMERT cancels the previous policy free of charge in the switching service. You then choose between the Basis, Basis-Plus and Premium tariff levels, with third-party liability of 10 to 50 million euros limit of indemnity as the basis. Up to a sum insured of 2.5 million euros the policy can be taken out online.
Since production ended in 1987, all four ranges are of an older year of construction today. In full hull cover an agreed value is set and compensation is paid with no deduction for depreciation, in the Premium tariff with no age limit. For the premium the sail area counts instead of the engine output.
Questions and answers
Frequent questions
How does the switch to NAMMERT work?
We cancel the previous policy free of charge in the switching service. You provide the details of the yacht, choose the tariff level and take out cover online up to a sum insured of 2.5 million euros.
Can yachts from the 1970s be accepted?
Yes, we insure regardless of the year of construction, place of purchase and previous owners. Full hull cover works with an agreed value, in the Premium tariff with no age limit for the year of construction.

Series by Opus/Pedersen & Thuesen, build years and cover
Opus 34 is a sailing yacht from Opus/Pedersen & Thuesen, built from 1969 to 1987.
Opus 34 MK-II is a sailing yacht from Opus/Pedersen & Thuesen, built from 1980 to 1987.
Opus 35 is a sailing yacht from Opus/Pedersen & Thuesen, built from 1974 to 1984.
Lord Helmsman is a sailing yacht from Opus/Pedersen & Thuesen, built from 1975 to 1982.
For a series of this age there is no list price left. That is why we work with an agreed value: you state the figure, we agree it, and in a total loss exactly that amount is paid, with no deduction for wear.
On sailing yachts the rig and the underwater hull are the expensive parts: a dismasting quickly costs a quarter of the boat, and osmosis counts as wear and is covered by no hull policy.
