Worth knowing
R.O.C.; cover, cost and conditions
One motor yacht is recorded, the Hoover 40, built from 1977 to 1984. No further ranges are available for this brand. With a yacht from this period, taking out the policy is above all about the value that is to apply in the event of a claim, and we fix that as an agreed value.
A current market value therefore no longer plays a role; compensation is paid with no deduction for depreciation (new for old), in the Premium tariff with no age limit. The year of construction is no reason for a refusal: we insure regardless of year of construction, place of purchase and previous owners. An existing previous policy is cancelled by us free of charge through the switching service.
The full hull cover covers collision, grounding, vandalism and theft of parts including the outboard; the limited hull cover covers fire, storm, lightning strike, theft of the entire boat and damage in winter storage. Beneath these lies third-party liability with a limit of indemnity of 10 to 50 million euros.
Questions and answers

What distinguishes limited hull cover and full hull cover?
The limited hull cover covers fire, storm, lightning strike, theft of the entire boat and damage in winter storage. The full hull cover adds collision, grounding, vandalism and theft of parts.

Series by R.O.C., build years and cover
Hoover 40 is a motor yacht from R.O.C., built from 1977 to 1984.
For a series of this age there is no list price left. That is why we work with an agreed value: you state the figure, we agree it, and in a total loss exactly that amount is paid, with no deduction for wear.
On motor yachts the drive and the electronics together make up about half the value. Both belong in the valuation, otherwise the sum insured is too low.
