Rancraft; cover, cost and conditions
Third-party liability is the basis of every contract and is available with a limit of indemnity of 10 to 50 million euros, graded across the levels Basis, Basis-Plus and Premium. Only then do limited hull cover and full hull cover build on it. Which level fits depends on the boat and on the cruising range.
Rancraft lists 51 model ranges, among them motorboats such as the RD 26 and motor yachts such as the RC 40 or the RC 45. For the recorded ranges the start of construction lies between 2007 and 2013, and a large part of them is still being built today. Every range is insured through type of boat, value, year of construction, engine power and cruising range.
For motor yachts of this size the limit for taking out cover online is a topic: up to a sum insured of 2.5 million euros it can be done online, above that an individual assessment follows. Full hull cover works with an agreed value and pays out with no deduction for depreciation ("new for old").

Frequent questions
How high is the limit of indemnity in third-party liability?
Depending on the tariff level it is between 10 and 50 million euros. Basis, Basis-Plus and Premium differ in the amount and in the scope of cover.
Does the same apply to new models as to older ranges?
Yes. The premium follows type of boat, value, year of construction, engine power and cruising range. Whether a range is still running or has been discontinued changes nothing about the rules.

Licence
A powerboat licence (inland or coastal) is required from 15 hp (11.03 kW).
Registration

As the series is still in production, parts are available and repair costs are predictable. Even so, value it at replacement cost including retrofitted electronics, not at list price.
On a motorboat the drive is the single most valuable part. Damage after grounding is covered, an engine failure from wear is not.
On motor yachts the drive and the electronics together make up about half the value. Both belong in the valuation, otherwise the sum insured is too low.
For a series built in these years the market value and the replacement cost often differ widely. An agreed value removes the age-based scale, and the figure in the policy stands.
