One model range is on record, the TT Ranger as a motorboat, built since 2018 and continuing today. Boats of this kind are often brought to the water by road. The boat trailer is covered by the boat insurance at no extra premium, and no separate policy is needed for it.

Craning, launching and time in transit also fall under the cover, as does the time in winter storage. Limited hull cover additionally comprises fire, storm, lightning strike and theft of the entire boat.

For the premium the type of boat, value, year of construction, engine power and cruising range count, not the brand. Up to a sum insured of 2.5 million euros you take out cover online; above that we review the individual case. We cancel an existing previous policy free of charge.

A powerboat licence (inland or coastal) is required from 15 hp (11.03 kW).

Registration

Registration from 3 hp; for trips abroad carry the boat certificate or flag document.

Waters

Inland, coastal and abroad; plan fairways, bridge clearances, draught and tides.

Equipment

Lifesaving gear, fire extinguisher, anchor, signalling equipment and correct navigation lights.

Cruising range

The agreed cruising range is stated in the policy and can be extended at any time.

Weather

Check wind force in Beaufort and wind direction before casting off, and allow for gusts.
