Worth knowing
Trimet; cover, cost and conditions
One sailing yacht range is documented, the Flyer 26, built from 2002 to 2009. If a policy with another provider is already running for it, the switch need not involve any work. NAMMERT cancels the previous policy free of charge in the switching service, so that no gap arises.
After that, third-party liability with a limit of indemnity of 10 to 50 million euros is available in the levels Basis, Basis-Plus and Premium. Club races are included from Basis-Plus upwards, and you state races with scoring status when taking out the policy so that the cover holds there too.
For the calculation of a sailing yacht what counts is the type of boat, the value, the year of construction, the sail area and the cruising range, not the brand. In full hull cover the agreed value ensures compensation with no deduction for depreciation ("new for old"), in the Premium tariff with no age limit for the yacht.
Questions and answers
Frequent questions
Can I switch to NAMMERT in the middle of the year?
The switching service takes on the cancellation of the previous policy free of charge. We coordinate the start of the new policy so that no gap in cover arises.
Which details do I need in order to take out the policy?
The type of boat, the value, the year of construction, the sail area and the cruising range. Up to a sum insured of 2.5 million euros the policy is taken out online, and above that an individual assessment follows.

Series by Trimet, build years and cover
Flyer 26 is a sailing yacht from Trimet, built from 2002 to 2009.
For a series built in these years the market value and the replacement cost often differ widely. An agreed value removes the age-based scale, and the figure in the policy stands.
On sailing yachts the rig and the underwater hull are the expensive parts: a dismasting quickly costs a quarter of the boat, and osmosis counts as wear and is covered by no hull policy.
