With the i550 SportBoat sailing boat, which has been built since 2018 and up to the present day, the sail area takes the place of the engine power. Alongside type of boat, value, year of construction and cruising range it is one of the details from which the premium is calculated. The brand itself carries no weight in this.
If you sail competitively, the question of races has to be settled in advance. Club races are included from Basis-Plus upwards, and you declare races with scoring status when taking out the contract. That way it is established before the start which trips fall under the cover and which have to be reported separately.

Small series and home-built boats can be insured just as much as production boats, the value is agreed as an agreed value and paid out with no deduction for depreciation (new for old).
