Worth knowing
Wesling; cover, cost and conditions
Two motorboats are on record: the Wesling 16 HT from 1971 to 1983 and the Fjordling 18 HT from 1976 to 1983. Both model ranges ended in the same year, and nothing was added afterwards. Every unit sailing today is correspondingly old and is insured as a used boat.
On motorboats the engine power is one of the premium factors, alongside type of boat, value, year of construction and cruising range. After fifty years it is often no longer the first engine working on board, which is why the present power output belongs in the application. Only in this way does the contract match the boat.
Full hull cover protects collision, grounding, vandalism and theft of parts including the outboard on the basis of an agreed value. Limited hull cover carries fire, storm, lightning strike, theft of the entire boat and damage in winter storage, and beneath it lies third-party liability.
Questions and answers
Frequent questions
What should be noted in the case of a retrofitted engine?
The engine power is a premium factor, which is why a changed engine should be reported.
Can a boat from the year 1971 still be insured?
Yes. We insure regardless of the year of construction, the place of purchase and previous owners. In full hull cover an agreed value applies, in the Premium tariff with no age limit.

Series by Wesling, build years and cover
Fjordling 18 HT is a motorboat from Wesling, built from 1976 to 1983.
Wesling 16 HT is a motorboat from Wesling, built from 1971 to 1983.
For a series of this age there is no list price left. That is why we work with an agreed value: you state the figure, we agree it, and in a total loss exactly that amount is paid, with no deduction for wear.
On a motorboat the drive is the single most valuable part. Damage after grounding is covered, an engine failure from wear is not.
