Worth knowing
YSS; cover, cost and conditions
Four sailing yachts are listed under YSS, the Capri 35, 37, 40 and 44, all built between 1985 and 1992. The fleet is entirely second-hand today. Anyone buying one of them should determine the replacement value including the equipment, because the agreed value arises from it.
The agreed value applies in the event of a claim, with no deduction for depreciation (new for old) and, in the Premium tariff, without any age limit. Subsequent estimates are thus dispensed with. Legal expenses cover for water sports is offered alongside and applies in disputes after buying a used boat or with a yard.
Four ranges in the same period make up a programme that hangs together. For the premium, however, what counts is the individual yacht with its type of boat, value, year of construction, sail area and cruising range. We insure regardless of year of construction, place of purchase and previous owners.

Series by YSS, build years and cover
Capri 35 is a sailing yacht from YSS, built from 1985 to 1992.
Capri 37 is a sailing yacht from YSS, built from 1985 to 1992.
Capri 40 is a sailing yacht from YSS, built from 1985 to 1992.
Capri 44 is a sailing yacht from YSS, built from 1985 to 1992.
For a series of this age there is no list price left. That is why we work with an agreed value: you state the figure, we agree it, and in a total loss exactly that amount is paid, with no deduction for wear.
On sailing yachts the rig and the underwater hull are the expensive parts: a dismasting quickly costs a quarter of the boat, and osmosis counts as wear and is covered by no hull policy.
