Canary Islands
The north east trade blows reliably, and between the islands it accelerates in the acceleration zones off the headlands to considerably more than the forecast shows. The channels between Tenerife, Gran Canaria and Fuerteventura are deep with strong current. Most damage happens on inter island passages and while berthing in the crowded marinas before the Atlantic season.

Berths, season and winter storage
The area works year round with berths in the middle price band, but demand is heavy from October to December, when the Atlantic fleet gathers. Ashore storage is available but rarely needed. Yards and chandlers are on hand.
What this means for your policy
The Canaries belong to the cruising range for the Canaries and Madeira. Crossing the Atlantic from here needs a worldwide range or one expressly intended for blue water. Settle that before you arrive, not in Las Palmas two weeks before the start.
