Cape Town
The V&A Waterfront and the Royal Cape Yacht Club are well sheltered, but the weather outside is not: in summer the south easter falls over Table Mountain with great force, and west of the Cape the Agulhas current meets the westerly drift, which produces the notorious sea off the coast. Rounding the Cape is planned by weather window, not by calendar.

Berths, season and winter storage
The main period for blue water yachts is November to April, with berths in the middle price band. Cape Town has very good yards and sailmakers at prices well below European levels; many owners use the stop for repairs and refits.
