Azores
Horta on Faial is the best known yacht harbour in the North Atlantic. The islands lie on the boundary between the Azores high and the track of Atlantic depressions, which makes spring weather changeable. The harbours are good, but in a southerly there is surge in the basins and boats work on their lines. Passages between the islands bring swell from more than one direction.
