Göta Canal
Between Mem and Gothenburg lie the lock staircases of Berg and Trollhättan and the open water of Vättern and Vänern. The lakes can turn unpleasant within an hour; the chambers are handwork. What gets damaged are rubbing strakes and stanchions, plus hull scrapes on rough chamber walls.

Berths, season and winter storage
The canal is only open throughout from June to August, with berths in the middle price band. Ashore storage is compulsory in winter, as the canal is drained. Book the lock group times early, because they are fully used in the short season.
What this means for your policy
The route falls under the Scandinavia cruising range. What matters is that both the inland stretch and the coastal waters beyond are in the policy if you continue into the Kattegat or the Baltic. Also clarify how your policy treats damage that occurs while making fast in a lock.
