Ionian Islands
In the Ionian the summer maistros is a reliable afternoon wind that rarely exceeds five on the Beaufort scale, which makes this a beginners' area. The damage pattern follows: much berthing, little storm. Rudder damage while going stern to the quay is common, as are bumps in tight town harbours.

Berths, season and winter storage
The season runs from April to October with berths in the low to middle price band. Boats stay afloat in winter or come ashore at one of the yards near Preveza, where many German owners winter. Autumn gales from the south do occur and hit the open harbours.
What this means for your policy
The area belongs to the cruising range for Greece and the Aegean. Check whether damage to rudder and shaft while berthing with a stern anchor is insured, because that is the most common loss here, and whether cover continues unchanged during winter storage ashore.
