How the place works
From May to September cold fronts come up from the south, and off Cabo Frio the wind veers within hours from northeast to southwest at gale force. The coast between Rio and Cabo Frio offers little shelter, and upwelling cold water brings fog as well.
What breaks there
The frontal passage hits anchored boats from the open side, and in the bays around Angra dos Reis the turned weather arrives overnight. What gets damaged is ground tackle, covers and rig.
